Research Project: Podzols in a cultural context - part of the ‘Footprints on the Edge of Thule: Landscapes of Norse-Indigenous Interaction’ research programme.
Research Interests
While in Sweden conducting fieldwork I was lucky enough to meet some local archaeologists who advised me on where to find historical Sami and European sites for my study, and after a discussion on research interests I was invited back next year to take micromorphological samples from an archaeological dig they are going to carry out in Gammplatsen (A major meeting place and market town for both the Sámi and the Europeans in the 17th century).
More information on the visit can be found here: http://www.skogsmuseet.com/eng/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=73:footprints&catid=1:latest&Itemid=64
